Introduction of decanter centrifuge


Decanter centrifuge is a kind of equipment for solid-liquid separation, mainly divided into horizontal spiral filter centrifuge and horizontal spiral sedimentation centrifuge. Its working principle is based on the action of centrifugal force to achieve solid-liquid separation. Detailed introduction of decanter centrifuges are as follows:

1. Structure

Decanter centrifuge mainly consists of the following parts:

Rotating drum: A high-speed rotating component used to generate centrifugal force and deposit solid particles on the walls of the rotating drum.

Screw conveyor: part in the same direction as the drum but at a slightly lower speed, used to push deposited solid particles towards the cone end of the drum.

Differential: Used to adjust the speed difference between the drum and the screw conveyor to control the residence time of solid particles in the drum.

Drive device: includes motor and gearbox for driving the rotation of drum and screw conveyor.

Frame and shell: used to support and secure components and protect the internal structure.

2, Working principle

The working principle of decanter centrifuge is as follows:

A. Material feeding: the suspension shall be delivered to the inner cylinder of the screw conveyor through the feed tube, and to the rotary drum after acceleration.

B. Centrifugal separation: Under the centrifugal force generated by high-speed rotation of the drum, heavier solid particles are deposited on the wall of the drum to form a solid ring layer; the lighter liquid phase forms the inner liquid ring.

C. Solid phase transport and discharge: The spiral conveyor rotates at a slightly lower speed than the drum, pushing the deposited solid particles continuously to the cone end of the drum and discharging through the slag discharge port.

D. Liquid discharge: the clarified liquid is discharged through the overflow port at the large end of the drum and flows out through the liquid discharge port.

3. Characteristics

Continuous operation: It shall continuously feed, separate, wash and discharge materials at full speed to improve production efficiency.

Compact structure: reasonable design, small space, easy to install and maintain.

Strong adaptability: It is suitable for the separation of a variety of suspensions, and shall handle suspensions containing solid phase particle size greater than 0.005mm and concentration range of 2-40%.

Good separation effect: by adjusting the speed and differential, efficient solid-liquid separation shall be achieved, improving the dryness of the solid phase and the clarification of the liquid phase.

Stable operation: smooth operation, low noise, easy maintenance, long service life.
