Introduction of Tubular Heat Exchangers
1. Structure
The tubular heat exchanger is mainly composed of the shell, tube bundle, tube sheet and seal head, etc. The tube bundle is composed of many parallel metal tubes, which are usually arranged in specific shapes, such as triangles or squares. Both ends of the tube bundle are fixed on the tube sheet, and the tube sheet is installed in the shell. The head is used to seal both ends of the shell.
2. Working Principle
The hot fluid and the cold fluid flow respectively in different parts of the heat exchanger. One fluid flows inside the tubes, while the other fluid flows in the space between the shell and the tube bundle. Heat is transferred from the hot fluid to the cold fluid through the pipe wall, thus the heat exchange shall be carried out. The arrangement and design of the tube bundles shall increase the turbulence degree of the fluid, thereby improving the speed of heat exchange.
3. Characteristics
- Simple structure and convenient manufacturing: The structure of the tubular heat exchanger is relatively simple, and the manufacturing process is mature, making it easy for large-scale production.
- Large heat transfer area: By increasing the number and length of the tube bundles, the heat transfer area shall be flexibly adjusted to meet different heat exchange requirements.
- Strong adaptability: Suitable for various fluid media and different operating conditions, it shall operate stably within a wide range of pressure and temperature.
- Easy to maintain and clean: The tube bundles shall be disassembled and cleaned separately, facilitating maintenance and inspection, and ensuring the long-term efficient operation of the heat exchanger.
