Spectacle blind introduction

The spectacle blind is a piping component, mainly used to isolate or connect piping systems. Its shape is similar to the number "8", one end is solid (Flange cover), the other end is open (through the hole part), by rotating the installation position, which shall switch to the on-off state of the pipeline.

1. Structure

The spectacle blind consists of two connected disks, one is a solid disk (blind plate), the other is a hollow ring (through the hole part), the two disks are connected by flat steel.

2. The working principle

Isolation pipe: When the pipe needs to be isolated, align the plate end with the pipe and fix it by bolts, which shall achieve complete isolation of the pipe.

Connect the pipeline: When it is necessary to restore the pipeline flow, loosen the bolt and align the hole end with the pipeline, and fix the bolt again to restore the normal flow of the pipeline.

3. Characteristics

Unique structure: the shape is similar to the number "8" or glasses, so it is also called "glasses blind plate".

Convenience: It shall quickly change the pipe state, just loosen the bolt and turn over, without removing the entire flange.

Good sealing: it shall effectively isolate the medium and prevent accidents caused by mis-operation.

Clear identification: easy to identify the installation status, easy to operate and maintain.

4. Material

Carbon steel (Q235, A105) : suitable for low pressure, medium corrosive environment.

Stainless steel (304, 316L) : corrosion resistance, suitable for chemical, food and other industries.

Alloy steel (F11, F22, 12Cr1MoV) : suitable for high temperature and high pressure conditions.
