Introduction of Tubular Condenser

1. Structure

The tubular condenser is mainly composed of the shell, tube bundle, tube sheet and end cap, etc. The tube bundle is composed of many parallel metal tubes, which are usually arranged in specific shapes, such as triangles or squares. Both ends of the tube bundle are fixed on the tube sheet, and the tube sheet is installed in the shell. The end cap is used to seal both ends of the shell.

2. Working Principle

The working principle of the tubular condenser is based on heat exchange. Its working process is as follows:

a. Steam entry: Steam enters the shell side through the air inlet, which is the space between the shell and the tube bundle.

b. Heat exchange: Steam flows in the shell side and exchanges heat with the cooling medium (usually water) in the tube bundle. Heat is transferred from the steam to the cooling medium through the pipe wall, causing the steam to condense into liquid.

c. Condensate discharge: The condensed liquid is discharged through the liquid outlet.

d. Cooling medium circulation: The cooling medium flows within the tube bundle, absorbs heat and its temperature rises. It is then discharged through the circulation system and new cooling medium enters to continue heat exchange.

3. Characteristics

- Simple structure: The structure of the tubular condenser is relatively simple, and its manufacturing process is mature, making it easy for large-scale production.

- High heat transfer efficiency: By increasing the number and length of the tube bundles, the heat transfer area shall be flexibly adjusted to meet different condensation requirements.

- Strong adaptability: Suitable for various steam and cooling media, it shall operate stably within a wide range of pressure and temperature.

- Easy to maintain and clean: The tube bundles shall be disassembled and cleaned separately, facilitating maintenance and inspection, and ensuring the long-term efficient operation of the condenser.
