Introduction of Disc Centrifuge

Structure

The disc centrifuge is mainly composed of the drum, discs, motor, clutch, worm gear, and worm. Inside the drum, there is a set of interlocking disc-shaped parts - discs, with very small gaps left between the discs. The drum is usually driven by an electric motor to rotate at high speed.

Working principle

The suspension (or emulsion) is added to the drum through the feed pipe located at the center of the drum. When the suspension (or emulsion) flows through the gaps between the discs, solid particles (or droplets) sink to the discs under the action of centrifugal force to form sediment (or liquid layers). The sediment slides along the surface of the disc and accumulates at the part with the largest diameter inside the drum. The separated liquid is discharged from the drum through the liquid outlet. The function of the discs is to shorten the sedimentation distance of solid particles (or droplets) and expand the sedimentation area of the drum, thereby enhancing the production capacity of the separator.

Features

The disc centrifuge has a highly efficient separation capacity and it shall achieve liquid-solid or liquid-liquid separation. It adopts an automatic cleaning design, eliminating the need for manual cleaning, time saving, and has a high recovery rate of dried samples. It operates at a high speed. After the material liquid is sprayed by centrifugal force, it has a large specific surface area and shall instantly evaporate water in the high-temperature gas flow. The completion time only takes a few seconds. The equipment uses a vacuum system for filtration, featuring high efficiency, simple structure, easy maintenance, small floor space, almost no noise and high safety performance.
